The best hair wax for finishing a style?

I recently had my hair cut into choppy layers (pic: http://i692.photobucket.com/albums/vv282鈥?/a> )

I don't want it to be really puffy and ';scene'; but it just looks bad when it's flat and I prefer it to have a little volume and texture. Currently I use ';Bed Head Manipulator'; hair wax. I have a pot of ';VO5 Extreme Surf Style'; hair wax and today I bought a travel tin of ';Osmo Essence Clay Wax'; because my friend told me it's really good stuff.

I haven't had a chance to try the Osmo stuff and the problem is that I can't seem get my hair the way I want it (a little puffed up with the short layers slightly defined, kinda of like this: http://i692.photobucket.com/albums/vv282鈥?/a> ) and when I do I can't get it to stay that way.

Does anyone know and good (and not too expensive) waxes and some techniques for styling my hair? The best hair wax for finishing a style?
i was watching this girl on youtube and it was really helpful
