If you are taking any acne medications (retin-a, accutane, etc...) or if you are on or around your period, it will make your skin very thin and prone to the very top layer ripping off with the wax, therefore you shouldnt be waxing. Also make sure you test the temperature of the wax, it shouldnt be hot, it should be warm when put on the skin.

I have a really bad build-up on my hair that my stylist said is wax.?
I have hair down to my butt, very long and thick. I have had this build-up on my hair for sometime now and I can not get rid of it, it almost smells like mildew if put my hair up when it is wet. It looks like lice eggs but I do not have lice. I have a wedding I am in in the next month could someone please help me and suggest something to get rid off this, it is very unattractive and a real pain in the butt. It will also take out some of the moisture in your hair at the same time. It is a strong shampoo and it is ok to use twice, but PLEASE do not forget to re-moisturize with a good shampoo afterwards.
TRY NEUTRALIZING SHAMPOO OR CLARIFYING SHAMPOO....THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THAT PROBLEM

Therefore, I suggest waxing as opposed to shaving. Shaving comes back much faster and itchy, whereas waxing produces finer re-growth and much slower. It is a myth, however, that shaving causes the hair growth to become thicker - it just looks thicker because what you are seeing is the blunt end of the hair re-growing rather than the soft natural point of a hair growing our from the root as in waxing.

Ive waxed my legs one time and man it was painful! But it did last longer than shaving. I still shave my legs because I don't think I could go through that much pain again, lol. Hey, i've been styling my hair for a few years now and sometime sit works a treat and I can style it whichever way I want but a lot of the time my hair just doesn't seem to respond to the wax and just stays flat. I wash my hair before applying wax and have often tried conditioners and different shampoos. It just seems to be totally random. Anyone got any ideas? If so, i'm guessing the problem is that sometimes the wax build-up in your hair is what is leaving it unmanageable. That stuff is SO hard to get out, it's unbelievable. People recommended everything from liquor to dog shampoo to me for getting that stuff out, but what i finally found is this stuff you can get on e-bay. just look up hair wax removal powder or along those lines. Works like a charm, and once i was able to totally remove the wax with every wash, i found my hair was responsive EVERY time i styled it. hope this helped! p.s. I use Paul Mitchell dry wax on my hair.

Do you shave/wax/trim or just leave your pubic hair?

I prefer a little bit on top or nothing. I would never leave myself au naturel but that's just my opinion and that's how I like to look. I shave the area and then epilate the bikini line (really hurts but it lasts longer)
I trim the mound and I use the Finishing Touch eyebrow shaver thing (lol it was on TV, google it) on my labia because it won't cut me or give me razor burn.
Bottom line: I trim the top, and shave the bottom

I'm 28 and I'm telling you, Talk to your mom again, about how it's making you feel self-conscious. Chances are, she's got the same genes, and can understand how you feel. It's been another year, and I think your mom may think you're old enough now, especially if you talk to her girl to girl instead of just doing it yourself anyway. If you continue to wax over a long period of time, the hair will grow back thinner, this has alot to do with why people get ingrown hairs. When you wax you are actually damaging the hair folicle, so the hair wont be as strong or thick as what it was initally.

My friend and I were looking in 17 mag and we found the ad for sally hansen product. My friend was woundering id it would really work for shapeing up her eyebrows. I barely have any hair on my upper thighs from waxing and I go up to 4 months without having to get my lower legs wax. I get a full bikini too that can take up to 3 months for hair to grow. The key to waxing is once you start never ever use a razor again no matter how tempted you become or the emergency date you have coming up and no time to see your waxing specialist, because waxing caused hair in certain areas to go dormant.

The reason wax thins hair is, the bulb in the hair follicle is damaged and will not grow back. That's why it is important to do it right all the time. Once the bulb is damaged, it will never grow back

I would suggest that ,of the options U have given -Waxing is the best .. But its a lil painful . Its called Brazilian wax. The other best convenient easy option is to Trim the hair, cause shaving may accelerate the hair growth and har removal creams can be too harsh !

Cold wax will help you. Even my frnds use them. Dont Shave, it will just make the hairs hard when they grow. And if you want to get rid of the hairs from the personal parts, use creams. Creams now a days comes with moisturizures

I would suggest that ,of the options U have given -Waxing is the best .. But its a lil painful . Its called Brazilian wax. The other best convenient easy option is to Trim the hair, cause shaving may accelerate the hair growth and har removal creams can be too harsh !

Cold wax will help you. Even my frnds use them. Dont Shave, it will just make the hairs hard when they grow. And if you want to get rid of the hairs from the personal parts, use creams. Creams now a days comes with moisturizures

If you could deal with the pain, You should try veet waxing strips or nair waxing kit.. both only $6 bucks at target or walmart.. some on the box says you can use for the face.. double check that! but at least your hair won't grow back for weeks from that..
